The gorgeous mauve-pink and gold four-pot SOL pottery planter is in great condition. While there is a triangle-shaped outline around "SOL" on the floor of one of the pots in the lower section, as of the time of this listing the actual identity behind the mark remains unknown. Even though the three initials that make up "SOL" is incorporated into different forms of pottery in general, the Mid-Century style font that makes up this particular "SOL" inside a triangle-shaped mark is apparently quite rare - especially when taking into account the incredibly unique features of the design and finish. While the top pot has a closed bottom, the three pots in the lower section share a drain in the center of the pot. The mauve-pink has a drop-glaze appearance over the gold base color that gives the overall planter a metallic-like sheen. Even though the photos show the interior as more of a white to off-white color, it is actually closer to an off-white creamy tone. Hence, the angled openings of the three pots of the lower section enhance the incredibly gorgeous mauve pink and gold finish. Along with its aesthetically attractive color, it is important to point out the uniqueness of the overall design. While it is almost certain that the top pot was applied separately, the three open lower section pots were formed together. The area in-between each of the three lower pots along with their incredibly balanced measurements reveal the hand of a very talented and experienced artisan. Even though one might expect to look closely at the base or run a finger over the interior and find an obvious seam and/or joint, there are no joints on the lower section. Hence, the finished form of this planter appears to have been an incredibly difficult design to pull off. Furthermore, while the rounded outer sections of the lower pots might make it hard to notice, the lower section actually has a triangular shape. Even more, if three imaginary straight lines were drawn along the outer edge of each pot and brought to a point at each corner with corresponding lines brought together at one point above the top pot then this gorgeous planter would be in the shape of a pyramid.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the Chap Stick in the photos is not included in this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous mauve-pink and gold four-pot SOL pottery planter. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the planter - mainly in the form of slight distress and/or discoloration on the interior and on the base where it has come in contact with other surfaces. While the planter has been thoroughly cleaned, there are still some very slight dark spots on the inside of the handle tubes and in a few places on the underside of each lip. They are incredibly hard to notice unless under close-up inspection with a light.
The decorative possibilities for this beautiful mauve-pink and gold four-pot SOL pottery planter are many. The display case or china cabinet would be enhanced upon the addition of this incredibly unique four-pot pottery planter. Also, the open collectibles shelf or accent table would welcome this gorgeous four-pot SOL pottery planter for its metallic-like sheen and impressive design features. One can only imagine how stunning the already beautiful mauve-pink and gold exterior might be with flowing green vines running over the round rolled rims of each pot. In addition, the growing pottery collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this wonderfully unique and stunningly beautiful four-pot SOL pottery planter.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous mauve-pink and gold four-pot SOL pottery planter for its great condition, open lower section, metallic-like sheen, stunning color combination, three-sided shape, round rolled rims, and beautiful overall appearance.
The beautiful drop-glaze mauve-pink over gold SOL pottery planter weighs approximately 68 oz.
The gorgeous mauve-pink and gold four-pot SOL pottery planter measures approximately 8.5" tall to the top of the center pot and 3 5/8" tall to the top of each lower section rim in the front.
The three-sided ceramic SOL pottery planter measures approximately 11" wide across on each of the three sides with an approximately depth of 9.5" from the outside of each pot straight through the center to the outside of the planter.
The top pot measures approximately 3 3/8" across the opening from inside to inside x 3 5/8" deep.
The three pots on the lower section measure approximately 3 5/8" across each opening from inside to inside x 4.25" deep in each pot - and connected to the other pots through the open center.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
