The gorgeously distressed and worn off-white metal schoolhouse light fixture is in good condition. While this aged and distressed metal schoolhouse light fixture has not been tested, the intact porcelain inner section appears to be in great working condition. However, it is being offered in this listing as a decorative collectible. As can be seen in the photos, the aged off-white is beautifully accented with a burnt-orange tone - mainly on the underside of the upper section. Along with the incredibly gorgeous color tones, the exterior also has a very attractive aging chippy-paint appearance. The porcelain fixture of the upper section has a "30162" stamped into the porcelain in a small rectangular box with a rating of 660 Watts and 250 Volts. While there are no discernible marks on the inside of the bottom section, the socket appears to hold a standard size bulb. According to references, the simple straightforward design of this metal light fixture is commonly referred to as "schoolhouse". The smaller-diameter upper-section has three side-screws to mount and hold the fixture in place. While there are no side-screws on the larger-diameter lower-section, there are two small holes on the top of the shoulder - one on each side.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the coffee mug used in the photos is not included with this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.
The larger-diameter lower-section is slightly bent and/or out-of-round. Also, the off-white with burnt-orange tone - mainly around the area of the neck has some of the paint chipping away. Other than this, there are no deep dents, crushed areas, loose sections, or repair places on this gorgeously aged and distressed off-white metal schoolhouse light fixture. There are some areas of vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the light fixture - mainly in the form of distress and age. Also, as previously noted, the burnt-orange tone is due to the off-white color getting hot and aging over the years. In addition, the rustic brownish interior has some minor surface rust and/or patina developing on the metal surface. While the light fixture has been lightly washed down with mild soap and water, there are still some areas where dust, dirt, and/or debris have accumulated and would require a slightly harsher method of cleaning with possibly a wire brush.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeously distressed and aged off-white metal schoolhouse light fixture are many. The display case or open collectibles shelf would be enhanced by the addition of this distressed and aged Art-Deco metal schoolhouse light fixture. Also, the man-cave, game-room, or home-office would welcome this aesthetically attractive metal schoolhouse light fixture for its distressed off-white and burnt-orange chippy-paint appeal and industrial farmhouse charm. In addition, the growing collection of old light fixtures would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this distressed and aged metal schoolhouse light fixture.
The collector will appreciate this incredibly gorgeous metal schoolhouse light fixture for its good condition, off-white with burnt-orange color palette, intact "30162" porcelain interior, aged and distressed chippy-paint surface, industrial farmhouse charm, and aesthetically attractive overall appearance.
The gorgeously distressed and worn off-white metal school house light fixture weighs approximately 10 oz.
The distressed chippy-paint ceiling-mount light fixture measures approximately 4 5/8" tall x 4 3/8" wide across the top x 5.75" wide across the bottom.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
