Vintage Candy Tin, Earle S Bowers, Gold & Green, Distressed Rustic, Round Metal, Art Deco Font, Home Decor, Collectible 1930s

$69.00 $86.25

The collectible 1930's Art Deco style metal Bowers mint tin is in descent to good condition. The distress and wear on this Bowers metal tin is evidence of its collectible nature. While it is highly likely that the original contents of "old fashioned creamy mints" were hastily enjoyed, the beautiful Art Deco Bowers logo turned this empty metal tin into a cherished collectible. However, from the look of its slightly pushed-in lid, this Bowers mint tin was not the sort of collectible that was kept primarily for decorative purposes. The distressed and worn appearance reveals that this tin was most likely one of the most important items located in the main thoroughfare of a pre-WWII home. As the decades rolled on from the roaring 1930's, it appears the favorability for this tin continued as the tiny green screen-like lines and gold colored accents are very well preserved. Hence, the collectible nature of this gorgeously distressed and worn Bowers tin increases all the more because it has character that is consistent with use. Even more, one can only wonder at how many guests thought they were going to sneak a mint but to their dismay they only found a few coins, a couple of keys, and a cat-eye marble or two.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the Chap Stick in the photos is not included in this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.

There are dents and pushed-in areas on this collectible Bowers mint tin. Other than this, there are no holes, cracks, or repair places on this 1930's Art Deco style Bowers metal tin. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the tin - mainly in the form of distress and wear. Also, there is a slightly rustic patina that has developed on the tin - mainly on the bottom.

The decorative possibilities for this collectible Bowers mint tin are many. The display case or china cabinet would be enhanced by the addition of this incredibly interesting and attractive Art Deco style metal tin. Also, the open collectibles shelf or accent table would welcome this beautifully distressed and worn Bowers tin for its attractive color palette and Art Deco charm. In addition, the growing collection of advertising memorabilia and souvenirs would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this 1930's Art Deco style Bowers mint tin.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeously distressed and worn Bowers mint tin for its descent to good condition, attractive color palette, Art Deco charm, character consistent with use, and beautiful overall appearance.

The collectible 1930's Art Deco style metal Bowers mint tin weighs 6.1 oz. without any contents.

The round collectible "BowerS old fashioned creamy mints" tin measures approximately 1 7/16" tall x 6.5" wide across from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
