The gorgeously distressed red and golden-brown wooden magazine rack is in very good to great condition. While this beautiful wooden box has a design that is very similar to an older style tool tote, the larger size could make it slightly more cumbersome for continuous handling. Even though there are no discernible marks on the box for identifying its maker, the thicker wood that has been fastened together with metal nails reveals that this wooden box was built to last. While the sides, ends, and bottom are all .75" thick Pine wood that has been fastened together with steel nails, the slightly bigger round handle measures approximately 1 1/8" thick and is attached to each side with a large metal screw. The larger screws help to securely hold the box together and keep the handle in place. Finally, the unfinished bottom shows where an adhesive was used on one side to help further secure the magazine rack together. Hence, the thicker wood, metal fasteners, and adhesive used on one side make this magazine rack ready to hold many magazines and/or books. In addition to its sturdy construction, this magazine rack has an incredibly attractive aesthetic appeal. The distressed edges of the sides and ends not only help to dull sharp corners but also highlight the gorgeous golden-brown tone of the underlying Pine wood. As can be seen in the photos, the distressed red violet color further enhances the underlying wood-grain. Hence, all of these incredible design and aesthetic features come together to give this beautiful wooden magazine rack a primitive-Americana charm.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the books used in the photos are not included with this listing as they were used for decoration and scale purposes only. In addition, please note that the presence of a larger handle does not necessarily mean the handle will be able to support a load of magazines and/or heavy books. Hence, in order to move the magazine rack with contents, it would be best to pick it up from the ends.
There is a small surface chip on the bottom of one of the corners. Also, one of the ends has a couple of spots around the screw where the surface of the wood has been slightly gouged or roughed up. Other than this, there are no breaks, large cracks, or loose sections on this gorgeously distressed red and golden-brown wooden magazine rack. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on this wooden box - mainly in the form of age and distress. While it may be difficult to notice from the photos, the aging and curing of the wood has caused some shrinkage in some areas. For example, there are a couple of knots with boundaries that are becoming increasingly more noticeable with the aging of the wood.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeously distressed red and golden-brown wooden magazine rack are many. The living room or study would be enhanced by the addition of this beautifully distressed red violet wooden magazine rack. Also, the flat bottom makes this box great for narrow shelves and/or accent tables. The opening is the perfect size for holding seasonal faux flowers, twigs, and/or vinery decor. In addition, the larger size of the round wooden handle would make a great hand-towel holder, while stuffing the bottom section with rolled up bath-towels and accented with gorgeous greenery.
The collector will appreciate this beautiful wooden magazine rack for its very good to great condition, distressed red violet color, slightly larger size, thicker materials, metal fasteners, primitive-Americana charm, and gorgeous overall appearance.
The distressed red and golden-brown wooden magazine rack/tool tote weighs approximately 94.0 oz.

The inside opening measures approximately 20.5" wide from inside to inside x 5 9/16" across from inside to inside x 4.75" deep from the floor of the box to the top edge of the side.
From the floor of the box to the bottom of the round wooden handle measures approximately 10 1/8" tall.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
