The gorgeous green Madera Glass Company wine bottle is in excellent condition. There are three sets of numbers on the bottom beginning with "1520" that has an "86" to its bottom left and a "15" to its bottom right. While the significance of the numbers is yet to be known, there is a two-letter mark on the bottom. According to references, the "M" over "G" mark points to the Madera Glass Company who was known for making green glass wine bottles. The mark is quite rare because of the limited amount of time this particular "M" over "G" mark was used in the production of bottles - circa 1971 to the 1990's. Also, this gorgeous green bottle has a mold seam on each end (handle side and side opposite handle side). Furthermore, each seam runs up each end and ceases just below the rim. While at first glance it appears the rim has been applied to the bottle, under close inspection the seam is barely noticeable but incredibly smooth. Hence, the smooth and finished rim is consistent with glass bottles that have been hand-finished. Another important feature worth noting about his bottle is its unique shape. While the corners on this bottle have been rounded, a side view is incredibly similar to the incredibly rare green octagonal cylinder wine bottles of the 18th and 19th century - except for the handle. When considering all of these features together, it becomes evident that the Madera Glass Company was very serious about making high-quality wine bottles such as this one. Even more, the similar appearance with 18th and 19th century wine bottles that were also green in color reveals that this particular bottle represents a tangible example to the importance of tradition and beauty, along with the passion and pride that went into making this gorgeous green Madera Glass wine bottle.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous green Madera Glass wine bottle. There are some slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the bottle - mainly in the form of very slight rub marks on the bottom that are most likely from where it came in contact with another surface. Furthermore, they are very hard to notice - even when looking at the bottle up close.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous green Madera Glass Company wine bottle are many. The display case or china cabinet would be enhanced by the addition of this exquisitely-shaped green glass wine bottle. Also, the open collectibles shelf or bookcase would welcome this incredibly attractive wine bottle for its rich green color and traditionally-inspired design. In addition, the growing collection of bottles would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this rare green Madera Glass Company wine bottle.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Madera Glass Company wine bottle for its excellent condition, rich green color, traditionally-inspired design, smooth finished rim, French wine-country charm, and beautiful overall appearance.
The gorgeous green Madera Glass Company wine bottle weighs approximately 35 oz.
The gorgeous green Madera Glass wine bottle measures approximately 11" tall x 1.25" wide across the rim from outside to outside with an opening measurement of approximately .75" from inside to inside.
The largest section of the bottle sometimes referred to as girth - where the top of the sides meet the shoulders on this bottle - measures approximately 5.75" in length x 4 7/8" wide - where the top of the sides meet the shoulders.
The oval footed base measures approximately 4 3/8" in length x 3 5/16" wide.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
