Vintage Miter Box, Stanley 116, Wood Table, Steel Fence, Adjustable Guide, Carpenters Tool, Brown Black, Home Decor, Industrial Decoration

$212.60 $265.75

The collectible Stanley 116 miter box with its unbranded trim saw is in very good condition. While this miter box and saw could be put back to work with some sharpening and/or adjustments, it is being offered in this listing as a decorative collectible. According to references, the 2268835 patent number dates to circa 1939. This particular Stanley 116 miter box is known for being able to accommodate both a back or trim saw in its guide. While the opening of the saw guide can be adjusted vertically up to 4" by loosening a wingnut on the back, the small silver-gray knob on the top of the guide can be loosened to change the angle of the cut. Also, while the distressed and aged wooden table appears to be original, there are two extra layers that appear to have been added to the top increasing the thickness of the actual table. The distressed and worn brown surface of the table enhances perfectly the rustic and distressed appearance of the black steel fence. In addition to its very collectible nature and gorgeously distressed and worn character, it is important to point out that the aged metal and wood give this Stanley 116 miter box and unbranded saw combo a wonderful rustic-industrial charm.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the miter box and saw will be disassembled in order to ensure safer packaging and shipping.

While there are some chips and/or worn areas on the surface of the wooden table, the majority of the wear is located on the two upper layers. Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this collectible Stanley 116 miter box or unbranded saw. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the miter box and saw - mainly in the form of age, distress, and wear. Also, there is a rustic and distressed patina and/or surface rust on the miter box and saw. In addition, while the teeth on the saw appear to be fully intact, there are some that appear to have more wear than others. Along with this, when looking downward behind the handle at the top of the blade, it appears to be very straight. However, when looking at the bottom edge, there is a slight bend in the area of the teeth approximately 3.25" from the end. In addition, both the miter box and saw were disassembled and quite thoroughly cleaned with mild soap and water along with steel wool on the metal sections. After the pieces were thoroughly dried, the metal parts were wiped down with oil to prevent future rusting.

The decorative possibilities for this collectible Stanley miter box and unbranded saw are many. The display case or open collectibles shelf would be enhanced by the addition of this aged and worn Stanley carpenter's tool. Also, the man-cave or home-office would welcome this gorgeously distressed and worn Stanley 116 miter box and unbranded saw combo for its aged patina and rustic-industrial charm. In addition, the growing collection of old tools would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this early mid-century Stanley Miter box and unbranded saw combo.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeously distressed and worn Stanley 116 miter box and unbranded saw combo for its very good condition, aged patina, rustic-industrial charm, and attractive overall appearance.

The collectible Stanley 116 miter box and unbranded trim saw combo weigh approximately 86 oz.

The rustic and distressed Stanley 116 adjustable miter box measures approximately 13.5" in length x 7.5" tall to the top of the adjustment knob x 4.5" wide including the fence.

The wooden table measures 13.5" in length x 4 3/8" wide x 1" thick or 1.25" thick including the two extra layers on the top of the table.

The rustic and distressed black steel fence measures approximately 13.5" in length x 4 7/8" tall near the center and 2 3/8" tall on the outside.

The saw opening measures approximately 5.75" tall at the lowest setting and will adjust up another 4".

The unbranded wood and steel trim saw measures approximately 17" in length including the wooden handle.

The actual blade on the saw measures 12" in length x 3.5" tall.

The blade appears to have 13 PPI (points per inch).

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
