Vintage Battleship Game, 1971 Milton Bradley, Blue & Red, Two Player, Navy Combat, Gameroom Collectible, Naval Action, Home Decor

$121.40 $151.75

The collectible 1971 Milton Bradley head-to-head two-player "Battlefield" game is in very good to great condition. The distressed and worn original box is in good condition. This game inspired the now iconic phrase "You sunk my battleship". The game was produced in 1971 by Milton Bradley of Springfield Massachusetts and has "4730" above "MADE IN USA". Also, there are rules and instructions for this incredibly popular naval action guessing game on the underside of the lid. The instructions reveal that there are three levels of gameplay including basic "Battleship", Salvo experienced, and Salvo expert. Each of the player consoles have two ocean grids with 100 peg holes each. There are approximately 71 red pegs, 149 white pegs, and 10 gray plastic naval vessels - 5 for each player. The object of this incredibly fun game is to "SINK ALL OF YOUR OPPONENTS SHIPS". Furthermore, the broad age range of 8 to adult along with the three different levels of play make this naval action guessing game perfect for parents and children to challenge each other for a very long time.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.

There are no breaks, cracks, or repair places on the actual game consoles including the pieces. There are some slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the game - mainly in the form of slight discoloration and/or age on the consoles. Also, the sticker on top of each console has some discoloration and/or wear on its surface. The game pieces are very clean and presentable. Even more, the appearance of each console along with their plastic ocean grids and game pieces are very consistent with a game that has barely been played. As previously mentioned, the original box shows signs of wear, age, and distress. There are places on the box where tape has been used to hold the corners together.

The decorative possibilities for this collectible 1971 Milton Bradley two-player "Battleship" naval action game are many. The display case or open accent table would be enhanced by the addition of this super fun game of mock head-to-head naval combat. Also, the gameroom or man-cave would welcome this head-to-head two-player naval action game for its clean player consoles, challenging levels of play, and retro vintage charm. In addition, the growing toy and game collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this 1971 Milton Bradley head-to-head naval strategy game entitled "Battleship".

The collector will appreciate this 1971 Milton Bradley two-player "Battleship" game for its very good to great condition, included original box, clean player consoles, challenging levels of play, retro vintage charm, and gorgeous overall appearance.

The collectible 1971 Milton Bradley two-player naval strategy game "Battleship" in its original box weighs approximately 34 oz.

The distressed and worn "Battleship" game box measures approximately 19 1/8" in length x 9 5/8" wide x 1 5/8" deep.

If you are from outside the United States and you wish to purchase this product put in your correct address and it should populate a quote. If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
