The gorgeous mid-century wall-hanging Springfield weather station is in great condition. The instruments are all in great working condition. The darker brown wood-grain design of the plastic housing gives this particular weather station a rich mid-century charm. Each gold-tone instrument bezel is very readable and attractive to the eye. Behind the clear plastic window of each bezel sits a silver instrument face with black accents and numbers. The top bezel holds the thermometer. The center bezel holds the barometer. The lower bezel holds the instrument for measuring humidity. Each instrument bezel is mounted inside the brown plastic wood-grain housing. There is a brass/bronze - wreath on the back of the housing.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, while the initial adjustment on the barometer has already been done as the barometer needle is now registering, the eventual location may need setting again. In order to adjust the barometer simply put a small straight-head screwdriver into the small notch located inside the back of the barometer.
There are metal wall hangers already installed on the back of the weather station - one near the top and the other near the center and offset to the side. The offset wall hanger is to make sure the weather station stays firmly mounted on the wall and does not swing from side to side.
The "Springfield" name is located on the face of each instrument with "Made in USA" at the bottom of the thermometer and humidity meter..
The rare thermometer shows only Fahrenheit. Hence, this appears to be a much earlier weather station than those that include both Fahrenheit and Celsius measurements in the same instrument.
While at first glance there appears to be some super small chips on the outer rim of the top two bezels, they are actually imperfections. Since the bezels are plastic, they are more likely to crack than chip. Even more, under magnification the same gold color covers the inside of the tiny imperfections. Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this beautiful mid-century Springfield weather station. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the weather station - mainly in the form of slight patina developing on the gold-colored bezels along with some very faint rub marks on the edges and corners of the housing. Also, there are some incredibly faint rub marks on each of the clear plastic windows - most likely from them being wiped down with a paper towel. The small rub places are very hard to notice unless it is pulled up close and inspected in the light. In addition, the bronze-gold wreath along with the metal wall hangers on the back have some developing patina. The silver face of each instrument meter is very clean and discernible. On the back of the housing, there are a couple of thin rub marks/scratches that are most likley from the weather station being laid on its back and pulled across another surface.
The decorative possibilities for this beautiful mid-century Springfield wall-hanging weather station are many. The entryway or living area would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous Springfield weather station. Also, the kitchen or dining room would welcome this beautiful weather station for its warm darker brown wood-grain housing and rich mid-century charm. In addition, the growing collection of weather instruments would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this incredibly beautiful Springfield Instrument Company weather station.
The collector will appreciate this beautiful mid-century Springfield weather station for its great condition, darker brown wood-grain housing, rare Fahrenheit-only thermometer, rich mid-century charm, and gorgeous overall appearance.
The beautiful wall-hanging Springfield weather station weighs approximately 45 oz.
The gorgeous darker brown wall-hanging weather station measures 21.5" tall from the bottom edge to the top of the metal wreath or 19" tall from the bottom edge to the top edge x 7 5/8" wide x approximately 2" deep including the front of each bezel
Each gold tone instrument bezel measures approximately 7/8" deep from the face of the housing x 2 13/16" across the face.
The gorgeous instrument bezels measure approximately 5.75" apart from center to center.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
