$88.40 $110.50

The beautiful Adams & Company Valencia Waffle clear glass compote dish is in very good condition. This gorgeous dish is an example of "EAPG" which stands for Early American Pressed Glass. While there are no discernible identification marks on this gorgeous glass dish, the particular pattern is sometimes referred to as Valencia Waffle. According to references, glassware pieces with the Valencia Waffle pattern were originally produced between 1861 - 1891 by Adams & Company located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. The downward direction of the square footed pedestal base enhances perfectly the upward direction of the larger top section. From the side view, the contrast in direction focuses the attention toward the overall elegance of the dish. Also, the clear sections of the dish give the impression that the beautiful patterned sections are simply floating - suspended on nothing. Another feature that makes this particular Adams & Company glass compote unique can be seen in its stance. While it is very slight, this gorgeous dish is actually taller on one side by approximately 1/8". Hence, this causes the dish to have a leaning effect. Furthermore, it is highly likely that the leaning appearance is evidence of individual production as opposed to more modern cookie-cutter methods. All of these stunning design features come together to give this beautiful Early American Pressed Glass Adams & Company glass compote dish an incredibly elegant Art Deco charm.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the ChapStick is not included in this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.

There are three incredibly small surface chips on the two of the corners - see third photo bottom and top right. While one and/or possibly two of the little chips could be due to the slag being removed (extra glass from where it was pressed together), they are chips none-the-less. Also, they are hardly detectable by touch, let alone with the naked eye. Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, chips or repair places on this gorgeous Adams & Company Valencia Waffle glass compote dish. There are some very slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the dish - mainly on the bottom where it has come in contact with different surfaces.

The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous EAPG Adams & Company Valencia Waffle glass compote are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous antique glass treasure. Also, the entryway, dining room, or vanity area would welcome this beautiful Valencia Waffle dish for its incredibly elegant Art Deco charm. In addition, the growing glass collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this Early American Pressed Glass Adams & Company compote dish.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Adams & Company glass compote dish for its very good condition, elegant Valencia Waffle pattern, unique stance, incredible Art Deco charm, and beautiful overall appearance.

The small Adams & Company Valencia Waffle glass compote dish weighs 6 oz.

The square-shaped glass compote dish measures 2.25" tall on one side and 2 1/8" tall on the opposite side x 4" wide across the rim from outside to outside x 2 3/8" wide across the bottom from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
