Vintage Self Discipline Book, Philosophy of Life, The Greatest Salesman, In the World, Og Mandino, Sales Mentality, Home Decor, Hardback

$74.80 $93.50

The self-discipline philosophy-of-life hardback book entitled "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino is in good to very good condition. The yellow and black scroll-work around the edges along with the red and black colors on the off-white background of the original dust-jacket are very attention-grabbing. This is for good reason because this book contains a powerful recipe for self-discipline. The book will inspire courage and persistence not only in the field of sales, but for all of life. According to references, the book is a very readable parable about a young man named Hafid living in Jerusalem during Biblical times. Hafid meets a wealthy and successful trader who is dying. Hafid becomes like a son to the man and the wealthy trader shares ten scrolls with Hafid that he wants him to spend time thinking about. This very readable parable is so profoundly inspiring that Mathew McConaughey credits this book by Og Mandino as giving him the courage to become an actor. For example, in the chapter covering the third scroll "I will persist until I succeed," Og Mandino gives an illustration of how young bulls are tested for their worthiness for entering the bull fighting ring. The score becomes better based on how many times the bull charges the Picador even though his hide will be pricked. Likewise, in life one should recognize that each day they will be tested in like manner. Also, while the book has a 1968 copyright, the last date mentioned in the front section is 1973. Hence, this book was produced in the United States circa 1973. The publisher of this book was Frederick Fell Publishers, Incorporated. The book is 18 chapters or 108 pages in length.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.

There are a couple of very small tears at the bottom of the dust-jacket on the front. Other than this, there are no rips, tears, bad odors, or repair places on this collectible hardback self-discipline philosophy-of-life book. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the book - mainly in the form of age and discoloration on the edges and dust-jacket. There is a name signed in the upper right corner of the front page. While we did not check every single page, there does not appear to be any other marks in the book. Also, there is some age discoloration on the book - mainly on the dust-jacket and page edges.

The decorative possibilities for this collectible hardback book are many. The bookcase or open collectibles shelf would be enhanced by the addition of this compact self-discipline book. Also, the accent or coffee table would welcome this very inspiring hardback book for its attention-grabbing cover and interesting title. In addition, the growing book collection will increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this self-help success book.

The collector will appreciate this self-discipline philosophy-of-life hardback book for its good to very good condition, attention-grabbing dust-jacket, inspiring contents, and compact size.

The self-discipline philosophy-of-life hardback book entitled "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by Og Mandino weighs 9.2 oz.

The inspiring hardback book measures 5/8" thick x 8.5" tall x approximately 5.75" wide.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
