The gorgeous Pioneer Stereo Cassette Tape Deck Model CT-W900R is in great condition. This super-cool stereo from the late 1980's to early 1990's was produced by "Pioneer Electronic Corp. Made in Japan". As can be seen in the photos, the stereo illumines in a beautiful orange background with orange and red accent lights. The cassette doors open and shut as if they have barely been used. Both decks are in great playing condition with the buttons and knobs fully intact and responding as they should. While the "Recording" features need blank tapes to work, a regular cassette was tested in both sides and will play, fast forward, rewind, and pause in both decks. The back has an "Off On" switch for the "MPX FILTER". The back information also shows that this stereo "COMPLIES WITH THE LIMITS FOR A CLASS B COMPUTING DEVICE PURSUANT TO SUBPART J OF PART 15 OF FCC RULES". There are inputs on the back for "In" recording and "Out" playing on both the left and right side. Also, there are two inputs under "Control" for "In" and "Out". This stereo features Dolby noise reduction and HX Pro from Dolby Laboratories. In addition, it is important to note that according to references, stereos in this model series (CT-W900's) are well respected for their ability to essentially awaken the sound of an otherwise normal cassette. While Pioneer has always been known for its incredible high-quality stereo systems, this model series was supposedly one of the players that added to their recognition. According to references, these stereos are some of the best cassette players ever produced - even rivaling the high-end elite systems produced by Pioneer during the 1980's and 1990's.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.
The Serial Number is IH2901353N.
50/60 Hz 25 Watts
- There is a "Tape Counter Mode" label at the top that includes a "Reset" and "I/II" button for switching between the decks.
- Each tape deck has a push-button "EJECT" button at the inside top of each door.
- The front window has "Peak Hold Meter" label in the upper right.
- On the front there is a jack for "Phones" - headphones - with a control knob to the right of the jack.
- Beside the "PHONES LEVEL" dial there is a "REC LEVEL" knob with a "REC BALANCE" knob to the far right.
- Just above the "Rec" knobs there are five buttons that run from left to right that read, "BLANK SEARCH", "RELAY/SKIP", "PARALLEL REC", "NORMAL SPEED", and "HIGH SPEED".
- Just above those buttons, there are a row of identification labels under the front window starting with "TIMER MODE", "REVERSE MODE", "DOLBY NR", "DECK I/II" and "SYNCHRO COPY".
- There are three toggle switches that move left to right or right to left above the "PHONES" jack and "POWER" button.
- The toggles are "REC-OFF-PLAY" on the left, a switch with parallel or circular lines (REV) in the center, and a "B-OFF-C" on the right.
- The decks are labeled Deck I and Deck II with "DOLBY HX PRO" above "AUTO TAPE SELECTOR" on both doors.
- From left to right, the buttons below each tape deck are "MS", "MUTE", "PAUSE", "REC", and "MS".
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous Pioneer Stereo Cassette Tape Deck Model CT-W900R. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the stereo - mainly on the top in the form of a surface rub. Also, there are some very faint marks on the front - mainly on the upper edge. In addition, there are remnants of a piece of brown paper that was stuck on the bottom. While it is highly likely the paper could be removed, remnants of original papers can sometimes increase authenticity - especially when they are not in the way of lights and/or moving parts. While there are some hidden and/or hard to reach areas that have a tad-bit of dust in and around the cassette doors, the stereo has been wiped down very lightly. No harsh soaps have been used. Even though the cover has not been removed, looking through the grills with a flashlight reveals a remarkably clean interior. While there is no doubt some type of dust on the inside, the stereo is very clean. In addition, the cracks, crevices, and lines have been lightly gone over with the soft edge of a business card just to make sure the stereo is as clean as possible without using harsher methods. As previously mentioned, the buttons and knobs are all intact and fully functioning as far as could be seen - the exception being that we didn't use the "Record" feature because we did not have a blank tape. The regular tape was left playing for a longer period of time and there were no odors or anything out of the normal.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous Pioneer Stereo Cassette Deck are many. The living room or den would be enhanced by the addition of this incredibly awesome Pioneer Cassette Deck. Also, the man-cave, she-shed, or home-office would welcome this super-cool Pioneer Stereo Cassette Tape Deck for its retro black finish with gold accents and attractive orange display. In addition, the growing electronics collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this incredibly rare "Made in Japan" Pioneer Stereo Cassette Deck.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Pioneer Stereo Cassette Deck for its great condition, attractive orange display, retro black finish with gold trim, fully intact buttons and knobs, authentic "Made in Japan" electronic, and super-cool overall appearance.

If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.
***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
