The gorgeously distressed and aged wooden step ladder/plant stand is in very good condition. While the ladder opens and closes very well along with all of the pieces being intact, it is being offered in this listing for decorative purposes only. Even more, while it is possible for the ladder to actually hold some weight, there are no maximum capacity markings to verify how much. Plus, the beautifully distressed lighter gray along with the random blue, green, gray and white spots found on this wooden step ladder would make a stunning backdrop for colorful pots and green foliage. The wider top along with the two ridged lower steps make perfect surfaces from which succulents and/or other house plants can be displayed. While there are no discernible identification marks on this gorgeous step ladder/plant stand, there are some very unique features that point to an older age. For example, the hidden "L" bracket under each end of the top step is very consistent with older style step ladders. In contrast, it is common to see recent versions have a visible "L" bracket on the outside of the top. Also, the wooden cross brace on the back is very consistent with an older age. In addition, there is evidence of careful and time-consuming craftsmanship that went into the construction of this gorgeous step ladder. The front corners of the two lower steps have been removed - sort of a reverse curve. Along with the aesthetically pleasing removal of the front corners on the two lower steps, the legs have been notched in order for the ends of the lower steps to slide into place. To hold the lower steps in place, there is a long threaded bolt just below each shelf with a nut that can be tightened if needed. Also, while metal hardware and fasteners are very common, this particular step ladder features the older rivet style hardware practically everywhere except for the threaded bolts and the screws holding the lower horizontal metal brace on the back. Finally, another incredible feature that makes this particular step ladder very attractive to the eye is its wide overhang. Instead of the sides matching up with the ends of the top step, the legs are indented - much like the full-size vintage step ladders that grandpa might have used around the farm. The distressed light gray wood along with the random remnants from previous painting adventures, aging metal hardware, and careful time-consuming craftsmanship give this gorgeous step ladder/plant stand a wonderful industrial-farmhouse-chic charm.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.
The lower horizontal metal brace on the back has some twist in the metal and an additional screw was added to one side. Other than this, there are no breaks, deep crack, water damages, or repair places on this gorgeous step ladder/plant stand. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on this gorgeous step ladder - mainly in the form of distress and age along with a beautiful rustic patina developing on the metal hardware and fasteners. Also, there are some very small shallow surface cracks - mainly on the top - that are most likely due to the aging of the wood. In addition, since many of the fasteners are rivets, that means there is really no way to loosen or tighten them. Some of the aging rivets on this beautiful step ladder have some slack that is mainly noticeable on their undersides.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeously distressed light gray step ladder/plant stand are many. The entryway or dining room would be enhanced by the addition of this stunning step ladder as a gorgeously distressed plant stand. Also, the living area or bedroom would welcome this aging wooden step ladder as a very handy self-supporting three-tier magazine/book rack. Virtually any room of the home would welcome this gorgeous step ladder for its wonderful industrial-farmhouse-chic charm. In addition, the growing collection of old industrial tools would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this older style small wooden step ladder.
The collector will appreciate this beautifully distressed and aged wooden step ladder for its very good condition, evidence of careful and time-consuming craftsmanship, older design features, incredible versatility, industrial-farmhouse-chic charm, and gorgeous overall appearance.
The gorgeously distressed and aged folding wooden step ladder/plant stand weighs approximately 6 pounds 12 ounces.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
