The antique Early American Pressed Glass celery vase/ring-dish is in very good to great condition. While it is rare in our present day to even hear the term "Celery Vase" let alone use one for holding fresh garden vegetables, according to references they were very popular between 1820 and 1900. In the early 1900's, the celery vase began to go "out of style" giving way to the then more popular straw holder. The stunning pattern on this thick and heavy pressed-glass celery vase is not only incredibly beautiful, but also provides an example of the amazing quality and craftsmanship of Early American Pressed Glass. While the lack of available comparisons make this particular pattern very hard to identify, according to references the pattern on this glass celery vase is called Navajo. While there are no discernible marks for identification on this gorgeous glass treasure, there is an etched signature and date just under the beautiful sawtooth rim. The cursive name appears to be "Rannu" or possibly "Ranni". The date appears to be 1915. Also, when looking through the pictures, one can notice the distressed remnants of a gold accent color that was once around the rim section.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the color to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, some of the pictures have been enhanced to better reveal the beautiful pattern on this Early American Pressed Glass (EAPG) celery vase/ring dish.
There are no breaks, cracks, deep chips, or repair places on this gorgeous Early American Pressed Glass celery vase/ring-dish. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the glass - mainly in the form of distressed remnants of the gold accent color. Under magnification there are some very tiny places that are either imperfections from where the press was removed and/or tiny coarse spots on the edges of the pressed pattern. Also, there are some very small bubbles and/or impurities inside the actual glass. Virtually all of these are sometimes consistent with older pressed glass and even provide further evidence of age.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous Early American Pressed Glass celery vase/ring-dish are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous glass collectible. Also, the open collectibles shelf or accent table would welcome this beautiful sawtooth glass celery dish for its stunning Navajo pattern and amazing quality. This gorgeous glass collectible would make a great entryway decoration with vibrant green succulents poking above the rim and/or jewelry dish. In addition, the growing glass collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this Early American Pressed Glass celery vase.
The collector will appreciate this beautiful EAPG glass celery vase/ring-dish for its very good to great condition, stunning hobnail star and jeweled-dot pattern, and exquisite overall appearance.
The Early American Pressed Glass celery vase weighs 13.3 oz.
The antique EAPG celery vase/ring dish measures 3.75" tall x approximately 3 7/8" wide across the rim from outside to outside in one direction and approximately 4" wide across the rim in the other direction x 3 7/16" wide across the base from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
