Vintage Porcelain Doll, 1970s Walda, Original Dress, Blonde Hair, Collectible Toy, Brown & Beige, Home Decor, Childrens Decoration

Sorry, this item has sold.

The collectible 1970's porcelain Walda doll is in very good condition. According to references, this doll would have originally been advertised as an "Antiqued Doll" that had to be acquired by "Mail Order". The doll is porcelain from the shoulders up, forearms down, and lower legs down. The center part of the body is a stuffed material. While the blonde hair definitely needs attention, this doll most likely came with a hat. Even though the eyes are fixed, the navy and light blue has been accented with an outer blush tone and white center. Also, it is important to point out that while some dolls are more desirable because of their appearance and/or they were produced by a famous doll-maker, the Walda doll represents a special era in America. Since, it has the appearance of dolls made in the late 19th to early 20th Century, the "Antiqued" Walda doll would appeal more to a parent who wanted to give their child a doll that reminded them of their own childhood. A similar practice is happening today with brands such as Star Wars, Marvel, Tonka, etc. with the demand for reproductions.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the quart jar is not included in the listing as it was used for scale purposes only.

There is a small area on the right leg that appears to be a repair to hold the material together. Also, the end of the left thumb has a very small surface-like chip that is very hard to notice. Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, or repair places on this collectible Walda doll. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the doll - mainly in the form of distress on the doll. Also, there are some tiny threads hanging out of the dress in certain areas. There are some areas of discoloration on the doll - mainly on the material that covers the top of the left porcelain leg. The brown TK zipper is fully intact and in great working condition. The hair needs attention as she has obviously had a "bad hair day".

The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous 1970's porcelain Walda doll are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this collectible Walda doll. Also, the open collectibles shelf would welcome this 1970's Walda doll for its "Antiqued" homely appearance. In addition, the growing doll collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this beautiful Walda doll.

The collector will appreciate this beautiful 1970's porcelain Walda doll for its very good condition, "Antiqued" homely appearance, original dress, and unique overall appearance.

The collectible 1970's porcelain Walda doll weighs approximately 22 oz.

The porcelain Walda doll measures approximately 18.5" tall x approximately 3.5" wide across the hips x 3.5" deep at the head.

The total arm span of this doll measures approximately 15.5" wide.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
