The gorgeous bisque porcelain dalmation dog figurine is in great to excellent condition. The realistic appearance of this incredibly detailed dog figurine is very rare. While there are no discernible marks of identification on this cute little dog figure, the muscular build, balanced proportions, and realistic stance reveal that this particular dog figurine was made by a highly talented and very experienced artisan. The antiqued-white has been lightly brushed with gray over the matte-finish to give the appearance that the spots are on actual hair. Both the muzzle and eyes have slightly distressed black with pinkish accents that not only highlight but add depth to the face. While the stance is very similar to those often associated with "Pointers", dalmations have been used for hunting birds, wild boar, and even as retrievers. Also, the consistency of the spots are more in line with the "Dalmatian" breed. However, the "Dalmatian" breed has not always had the recognition and popularity - at least as much as in recent years. The "Dalmatian" breed became extremely popular after the 1956 novel "The Hundred and One Dalmatians" by Dodie Smith. Hence, this gorgeous bisque porcelain dalmatian figurine was most likely made in response to the incredible surge of the breed's popularity.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. Also, the ChapStick in the photos is not included in the listing as it was used for scale purposes only. In addition, while it is hard to be certain, the smaller size along with the feel of the material that makes up this dog figurine is very consistent with older bisque porcelain figures.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous bisque porcelain dog figurine. There are some slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the dog figure - mainly in the form of slight distress due to age and/or handling.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous bisque porcelain dog figurine are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this incredibly detailed porcelain dog figurine. Also, the open collectibles shelf would welcome this rare dalmatian figurine for its antiqued-white and gray matte-finish and muscular build. In addition, the growing figurine collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this gorgeous porcelain dog figurine.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous bisque-porcelain dalmatian dog figurine for its great to excellent condition, intricately detailed body, realistic stance, and beautiful overall appearance.
The gorgeous bisque porcelain dalmation dog figurine weighs 5.4 oz.
The small dalmatian figure measures 4 5/8" tall to the top of the head, 3 1/16" tall to the top of the back, and 3 13/16" tall to the top of the tail.
The bisque dog figurine measures approximately 6" in total length x 1.5" wide across the feet from outside to outside.
The distance from the front of the front foot to the back of the back leg measures 4.75" in length.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
