The gorgeously distressed Art-Deco style kitchen canister is in good to very good condition. The front badge shows this canister was made for the purpose of holding "Flour". Since this particular canister has a particular label in the front, there were most likely other canisters that were made to go alongside this "Flour" canister such as "Sugar", "Coffee", etc. While the lower section appears to be brushed-aluminum, the lid has the appearance of copper. The black plastic knob on the lid is held in place by a four-way screw. The rounded front and back are in stark contrast to the flat sides. While the contrast between the curved front and back against the flat sides is very appealing to the eye, it also serves an important purpose. The flat sides could be butted up against another flat surface - space-saving. The rounded shape of the front and back not only allow the canister to stand-out on the countertop - making it easier to see the particular contents badge, but the rounded shape also makes it easier to slide in and out of its particular location. The curved shape makes it much more likely to "slide" back in place if it were to come in contact with another item instead of abruptly stopping and/or causing damage to another canister. The grill-like relief on the front along with its round medallion-shaped center appears to have been stamped or pressed into the beautiful brushed-aluminum metal. While there are no discernible marks of identification on this gorgeously distressed kitchen canister, the sturdy brushed-aluminum metal along with the Art-Deco style relief on the front reveal that this canister was made with both quality and beauty in mind.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual.
There are no holes, loose sections, or repair places on this gorgeous aluminum and copper kitchen canister. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the canister - mainly in the form of distress and wear from use and/or storage. The black plastic knob is fully intact and tight. There are some small dings and shallow dents on this gorgeously distressed canister - mainly on the edges of the copper lid. Even more, the small dings and shallow dents actually serve to enhance the distressed appearance of the canister - they provide legitimacy to the fact that this is a genuine "Vintage" canister. While legitimacy has virtually always been important, it is even more so at the present. Rub marks, scratches, scuffs, and even wear up to a certain point can pretty much be man-made. However, there are certain types of wear, distress, and age that can only come from actual use over an extended period of time. The small dings and/or shallow dents around the edge of the lid would be extremely hard - if not impossible - to purposefully make.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeously distressed kitchen canister are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous metalware collectible. Also, the kitchen countertop or open shelf would welcome this beautiful aluminum and copper canister for its attractive Art-Deco style. In addition, the growing metalware collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this brushed-aluminum and copper Art-Deco style kitchen canister.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeously distressed Art-Deco style kitchen canister for its good to very good condition, Art-Deco style, contrasting lines, and beautiful overall appearance.
The gorgeously distressed Art-Deco style kitchen canister weighs 11.3 oz.
The large aluminum and copper storage canister measures approximately 9.5" tall to the top of the black plastic knob on the lid or 8 1/16" tall to the top of the rim.
The metalware kitchen canister measures approximately 5 5/16" wide across the rim from outside to outside x 6 1/8" deep across the rim from outside to outside.
The kitchen canister measures approximately 5 3/8" wide across the bottom from outside to outside x 6.25" deep across the bottom from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
