Vintage Candy Dish, Fostoria Glass, Jamestown Blue, Virginia Style, Collectible Compote, Pedestal w/ Foot, Home Decor, Scalloped Bowl

The beautiful Jamestown-blue Fostoria compote/candy dish is in excellent condition. According to references, the particular paneled pattern on this Fostoria glass collectible is sometimes referred to as "Virginia". While the blue may appear slightly darker in the photos, the color is commonly referred to as Jamestown-blue. The nine-sided footed base extends into and through the pedestal where it ends on the underside of the compote bowl. The upper section picks up the paneled theme before it finishes at the top with an exquisitely scalloped rim. The stunning lines of the scalloped rim, paneled-Virginia pattern, and the nine-sided footed base are further enhanced by the stunning iridescent Jamestown-blue color. Hence, this exquisite Fostoria glass collectible has what could be referred to as an eclectic coastal-Depression era-Art Deco charm. Also, it is important to note that this particular compote/candy dish was only made by Fostoria between 1980 and 1986 when - according to references - it was discontinued. In addition, this beautiful glass compote has three seams which is one of the important indicators of authentic Fostoria glass.

Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. While pains were taken to be as close as possible to the actual Jamestown-blue tone, some of the photos may have a deeper blue appearance. Jamestown-blue could be described as light blue with a slight aqua-like tint. Also, the mug in the pictures is not included in this listing as it was used for scale purposes only.

There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous Fostoria Virginia Jamestown-blue glass compote/candy dish. There are some very slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the dish - mainly on the bottom of the base where it has come in contact with different surfaces. However, they are very hard to notice - even up close with the help of magnification.

The decorative possibilities for this beautiful Fostoria Jamestown-blue glass compote/candy dish are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this iridescent Jamestown-blue glass treasure. Also, the open collectibles shelf or entryway area would welcome this gorgeous glass compote dish for its eclectic coastal-Depression era-Art Deco charm. In addition, the growing glass collection would increase in value and appearance upon the arrival of this incredibly gorgeous iridescent Jamestown-blue Fostoria glass collectible.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Fostoria Virginia glass compote/candy dish for its excellent condition, iridescent Jamestown-blue color, limited-time production, eclectic coastal-Depression era-Art Deco charm, and beautiful overall appearance.

The gorgeous Fostoria Virginia glass compote weighs 17 oz..

The beautiful Jamestown blue Fostoria compote/candy dish measures 4 7/8" tall x 5 5/8" wide across the rim from outside to outside x 3.25" wide across the base from outside to outside.

If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. ***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
