The gorgeous blown-glass lava vase is in excellent condition. The stunning amber-brown and orangish mustard-yellow appearance of this beautiful vase give it an exquisitely warm charm. The increased flow of light coming through the fluted wavy rim gives the impression of volcanic lava erupting through the surface of a caldera. While there are no marks of identification on this gorgeous blown-glass vase, the inwardly folded smooth pontil mark along with what appears to be an "attached" round footed base reveals that this particular blown art-glass vase was made by a highly-skilled and very experienced artisan. Also, there are some very subtle bubbles and/or imperfections inside the glass that give this gorgeous vase its own unique character markings. Therefore, it would be virtually impossible to make an exact replica of this beautiful vase. Hence, this is a large part of the appeal for blown art-glass.
Please note that screen resolution and/or original lighting could cause the colors to appear lighter or darker than actual. While the interior of the fluted wavy rim may appear to be "plain" yellow, it is actually more of a mustard-yellow color which from the outside appears very orangish - increasingly so as it moves downward toward the darker base.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous blown-glass lava vase. There are some bubbles and/or imperfections in the glass which are sometimes consistent with blown art-glass pieces - especially larger ones such as this beautiful vase. There are some very slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the vase - mainly on the outside of the round footed base where it has come in contact with different surfaces. These little marks are very hard to find - even with a light. Also, there appears to be some tiny dots on the interior of the vase that are more concentrated in the main bottom. However, these tiny dots are actually tiny imperfections in the glass where the darker amber-brown peeks through the mustard-yellow interior.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous blown-glass lava vase are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this erupting lava vase. Also, the entryway or bookcase would welcome this beautiful vase for its exquisitely warm charm. In addition, the growing art-glass collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this blown-glass treasure.
The collector will appreciate this stunning blown-glass lava vase for its excellent condition, exquisitely warm charm, high-quality craftsmanship, and gorgeous overall appearance.
The gorgeous blown-glass lava vase weighs 40.8 oz.
The gorgeous amber-brown and orangish mustard-yellow blown-glass vase measures approximately 9 3/8" tall to the top of wavy the rim x 6 5/16" wide across the rim from outside to outside of top of the wavy rim x 6 7/8" wide across the rim from outside to outside in the valley sections x 3 15/16" wide across the round base from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
