Vintage Psychiatry Book, Reality Therapy, A New Approach, 1965 Hardback, Dark Green, William Glasser, 1st Edition, Mental Health, Home Decor

$75.00 $93.75

The collectible 1965 hardback mental health book "Reality Therapy: A New Approach to Psychiatry" is in very good to great condition. According to the back cover, the author, William Glasser, M.D. had been a psychiatrist in Los Angeles for eight years when he penned this particular work. One of the reasons this particular Psychiatry book is popular is most likely due to its very practical content. The foreword was provided by O.H. Mowrer, Ph. D. The book has two sections - Theory and Practice. Those two sections are broken up in six chapters.

The chapters are as follows:

Part I.

1. Basic Concepts of reality Therapy
2. The Differences between Reality Therapy and Conventional Therapy

Part II.

3. The Treatment of Seriously Delinquent Adolescent Girls
4. Hospital Treatment of Psychotic Patients
5. The Office Practice of Reality Therapy
6. The Application of Reality Therapy to the Public Schools-Mental Hygiene

The dark green dust cover is intact on the book. The title page has no previous dates of copyright. Hence, this very popular psychiatry book is a first edition collectible. The book was published by Harper and Row.

There are some slight wear places on the dust jacket - mainly around the edges - along with a couple of small tears - one at the bottom back of the dust jacket cover and the other - a very short one - at the top of the dust jacket spine. Other than this, there are no rips, tears, bad odors, water damages, mold, or repair places on this collectible hardback psychiatry book. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on the book - mainly on the edges of the dust jacket and some slight discoloration on the inside cover page. While the inner pages were looked over for marks and/or bent corners, there does not appear to be any marks or creased corners on the pages. There was previously a small 395 written in pencil on the inside upper corner of the cover page which was simply erased. From the appearance, this book has hardly been used - if any - more than as a reference. The pages are very clean.

The decorative possibilities for this collectible hardback psychiatry book are many. The study or den would be enhanced by the addition of this beautiful retro green 1965 hardback book. Also, the library or end table would welcome this retro green hardback Psychiatry book for its gorgeous vintage appearance. In addition, the growing vintage book collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this very popular and collectible William Glasser work.

The collector will appreciate this collectible hardback book for its very good to great condition, intact dust jacket, year of publication, relevant content, and clean overall retro appearance.

The collectible 1965 hardback mental health book "Reality Therapy: A New Approach to Psychiatry" weighs 11.9 oz.

The hardback William Glasser mental health book measures 8 5/8" tall x 6" wide .75" thick.

If you are from outside the United States and you wish to purchase this product put in your correct address and it should populate a quote. If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
