The gorgeous antique interior door is in very good to great condition. This particular door is an architectural salvage piece from a 119 year-old home. The beautiful distress and wear on this antique interior door adds a tremendous amount of character to an already well-constructed wooden masterpiece. The door is very solid and heavy. According to references for antique architectural salvage pieces, this door is believed to be made of Cypress wood. Supposedly, it was more common around the turn of the 20th century to use Cypress for entryway and interior doors - at least in certain areas. In addition, the marbled appearances of both the grayish-white and coppery-brown knobs are simply stunning and very relaxing to the eyes.
The top of the door appears to have a little gap on either side of the inner horizontal section where it supposed to meet the outer vertical edge. These little gaps appear to be from the aging of the wood as the back side does not show the little spaces. Also, there is a little piece at the top on the wood-grain side that appears to have been added back in after it initially chipped off. The smaller size of the little piece may be a good indicator that the piece simply broke off while the door was being assembled. The little area is very hard to notice because of its smaller size and location - being at the very top of the door. In addition, the white to off-white side shows a little line where the paint has aged and made a little gap. There are no loose sections on the door.
Other than this, there are no breaks, cracks, rotten places, or repair marks on this gorgeous antique interior door. There are antique wear, age, and rub places on the door - mainly in the form of distress and wear on the wood. The shellac/stain on the door has a very aged appearance. There are some spots of discoloration on the door. The door only had two hinges from which it was hung. The door side of those hinges are still intact on the door. Also, the hardware has a slight rustic and/or chippy distressed appearance.
There are no keys with the door. The knobs will need to be installed upon arrival as they will be packaged separately.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous antique interior door are many. While this beautiful old door is certainly ready to be installed and used as an actual "door", this door can also be incorporated into more modern settings. The interior of the home would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous antique interior door for a laundry, bath, bedroom, and/or pantry area. Also, shelves and/or hooks could be added to make a beautiful wall-mounted storage rack. The rich brown wood grain appearance would make a stunning horizontally-mounted focal-wall centerpiece. In addition, rollers could be added to create a sliding barn-style opening for either a closet or living area. The size and age of this gorgeous door make it a great replacement candidate for pocket-style interior doors.
The collector will appreciate this antique architectural salvage interior door for its very good to great condition, rich brown woodgrain, and gorgeously aged appearance.
The antique solid wood interior door weighs approximately 38 pounds.
The antique solid wood interior door measures approximately 76 13/16" tall x 29 7/8" wide x 1 7/16" thick.
The distance on the edge of the door from the bottom of the bottom hinge to the top of the top hinge measures approximately 61.75".
From the top of the door down to the top of the top hinge measures approximately 7 5/8" - to the edge of the flange/seat - not the hinge pin hole.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
