The gorgeous 1996 San Diego Museum of Art poster of Notre Dame by Maximilien Luce is in great condition. The beautiful purple, pink, blue, and aqua colors give extraordinary impression of the Notre Dame and its surroundings during a busy day. The poster was a gift from Ambassador and Mrs. Maxwell Gluck 1996 to the San Diego Museum of Art. This is a poster print of the original Notre Dame oil painting by Maximilien Luce c. 1900. The poster is framed in a Nielsen USA 98 brushed aluminum frame. The color of the frame appears to have a goldish tone in the daylight. However, when brought inside the home the brushed frame has more of a silver tone. This poster was assembled by Michael's Custom Framing and initialed by what appears to be ZE 7/1/98 and David 7-3-98. The initials of "ZE" could also be "ZM".
The information below San Diego Museum of Art says, "This poster has been made possible by the Maxwell H. and Muriel Gluck Endowment Fund at Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.
Under magnification, it is difficult to discern the particular classification as to whether it is "Digital", "Giclee", or an "Offset" print. When compared to references, it appears to be more consistent with either "Offset" or "Giclee" style prints.
The clear front on this gorgeous Notre Dame poster is glass.
The metal wall-hanging wire is already installed on the back of the frame.
There are no breaks, cracks, water damages or repair places on this gorgeous San Diego Museum of Art wall-hanging poster. There are some slight vintage wear, age, and rub marks on this gorgeous wall-hanging Notre Dame poster - mainly in the form of small marks or rubs on the frame. They are super hard to notice unless pulled up close and slowly inspected with a light. Also, there are some very slight dots of debris or dust behind the glass front that are primarily located near the corners - see the pictures. The surface of the glass appears to have some very slight marks. However, some may simply be an aged cloudy spot on the underside of the glass. The super high-quality Nielsen USA 98 frame is very sturdy and firmly intact.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous wall-hanging Notre Dame poster are many. The entryway or living area would be enhanced by this beautiful San Diego Museum of Art wall-hanging poster. Also, the hallway or bedroom would welcome this beautiful framed poster for its colorful and interesting appearance. ***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
