The gorgeous mid-century metal gooseneck desk lamp is in very good to great condition. The electric metal desk lamp is also in great working condition - see pictures. The wide airplane wing hood/bulb housing is vented on the top allowing light and heat to escape. In addition, the ends of the hood/bulb housing are in the shape of an atomic teardrop. The top adjusts on two chrome bendable arms. The end on the electrical cord says, "YAZAKI PM9056".
The black metal bottom has "Made in Japan" stamped into the metal. While it is hard to be absolutely certain, the fluorescent bulb appears to be the original. The brand of the bulb is Toshiba which is written in cursive with a model number FL-15S-D. In addition, there is oriental writing beside the model number which appears to be Japanese.
The color on this beautiful gooseneck adjustable mid-century desk lamp is closer to beige at the base with a beige gray or what is sometimes referred to as a light putty-beige on the airplane wing-shaped hood/bulb housing. The bulb is included with the lamp. However, the lifespan of the bulb is unknown.
The black metal plate on the bottom was removed and the inside of the base was cleaned. Also, with the bottom open, the screws holding the neck in place were tightened. The black metal plate on the bottom was then put back in place. No painting or polishing has been done to freshen up the appearance of this gorgeous desk lamp for pictures as we wanted to preserve the gorgeous distressed appearance.
There are no breaks, cracks, deep dents, or repair places on this gorgeous mid-century desk lamp. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub places on this gorgeous metal mid-century desk lamp - mainly on the edges, base, and bottom where it has touched different surfaces. The front edge of the hood has a couple of very slight places where the metal has a tiny outward ding - most likely from where the hood was adjusted by hand. They are very hard to notice. There are some tiny white spots of paint on the top of the hood - mainly more on the right side - very hard to notice as most look like powder. Also, the inside of the hood/bulb housing has a paper-like lining that is still intact. The lining does have some vintage wear but is in exceptional condition for its age. The electrical cord is in very good to great condition. There are some vintage surface wear spots on the electrical cord but no deeper. Also, the cord is very clean.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous gooseneck metal desk lamp are many. The study or den would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous desk lamp. The airplane wing shaped hood with its atomic teardrop ends along with the beige and chrome color combination makes this a very attractive lamp to display in an entryway or on a corner accent table. Also, the adjustable hood/bulb housing allows this beautiful mid-century light to work in tighter spaces such as a kitchen countertop or vanity area. In addition, the growing collection of vintage and mid-century table lamps would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this gorgeous metal desk lamp.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous mid-century metal desk lamp for its very good to great condition and stylish overall appearance.
The gorgeous mid-century metal gooseneck desk lamp weighs 45.1 oz.
The beige gray airplane wing shaped fluorescent metal desk lamp measures 13" tall to the top of the lamp in a normal position x 18" wide from outside to outside x approximately 6.75" deep.

If you are from outside the United States and you wish to purchase this product put in your correct address and it should populate a quote. If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.
***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
