Vintage Crystal Candy Dish, Killarney Style, Clear Cut Glass, Etched Trillium Leaves, Sawtooth Rim, Pointed Knob, Dining Room, Home Decor

$134.00 $167.50

The beautiful clear cut-glass crystal candy dish is in excellent condition. The crisp and lingering tone of the crystal is truly amazing. As the lid is lifted up, the crisp crystal tone captures the attention. The wavy curtain-like pattern is accented with etchings that include Trillium leaves on the lid and bowl. The pointed knob on the lid is much more pronounced and sharp. As if all of these different design features were not enough, this gorgeous crystal cut-glass candy dish has also has a deep sawtooth-cut rim. Also, there is a lid rest on each side of the interior of the bowl.

While there are no character marks to identify the maker of this gorgeous cut-glass crystal dish, the design and craftsmanship that went into producing this gorgeous candy dish points to either Waterford Killarney or Hofbauer Mikasa. However, the pointed lid is more consistent with Waterford. Also, the deep cut-glass design is more consistent with a Killarney style. Also, the Hofbauer Mikasa version has red colored leaves, whereas the Waterford Killarney is simply etched/satin in appearance. Hence, this particular cut-glass candy dish appears to be more consistent with Waterford Killarney.

There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this beautiful cut-glass crystal candy dish. There are some very faint vintage wear and rub marks on this beautiful candy dish - mainly on the flat bottom edge of the lid. They are almost too hard to see with the naked eye - even in the light. However, under magnification some tiny surface marks can be seen. Also, there are two places that appear to be chips. They are not chips. Both are located in or on an etched area. One can barely be seen in the last picture at about the 8:00 position. The little area is actually a tiny bubble that was in the glass. The tiny place is located on the top of the ridge. While it is nearly impossible to see them, the top of each of the etched ridges is actually flat. The reason this is not a chip is because the same trail of etching located on the tiny flat top of the ridge is also located on the inside of the once tiny air bubble. The etching tool simply cut through the air bubble leaving the impression of a super tiny chip. The second place that at first glance appears to be a chip/slash crack is located near the bottom edge of the lid as it comes out of the etched area into the clear rim. The reason this is not a chip or crack is because under magnification, the little line is actually a super tiny tornado-like funnel that reaches down into the flat bottom of the lid.

The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous cut-glass crystal dish are many. The china cabinet or display case would be enhanced by the addition of this beautiful crystal glass treasure. Also, the dining room or kitchen countertop would welcome this beautiful Killarney style deep cut-glass dish for its exquisite appearance. In addition, this would make a great ring and/or jewelry dish for a vanity or entryway.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous cut-glass crystal candy dish for its excellent condition, captivatingly crisp crystal tone, and stunning design.

The beautiful clear cut-glass crystal candy dish weighs 38.8 oz.

The round deep cut-glass candy dish measures 8" tall top the top of the pointed knob on the lid and 3 1/8" tall to the top of he sawtooth rim.

The gorgeous crystal cut-glass bowl measures 6 7/8" wide across the rim from outside to outside.

If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. ***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
