The gorgeous Radio Shack 12-795 Multiband Receiver is in very good to great working condition. While this awesome Multiband Radio is in very good to great working condition, it is being offered in this listing as a decorative collectible. This awesome retro radio from Radio Shack has a catalog number of 12-795. The adjustable direction finder on the top of the radio is not a handle. The silver colored side handles are give this Radio Shack Receiver a very serious retro appearance.
The radio has not been taken apart. The exterior has received a light wiping down with a damp cloth.
While this Multiband Receiver was tested using electricity, there is battery compartment designed to hold four "D" size batteries. While the battery compartment appears to be very clean with connections intact, the radio was not tested using batteries.
There is a switch on the back to use either AC or DC power. The AC is 120V 60 Hz 5W. The DC is 9 V. There is a plug-in on the back for a 9 V power source.
This is "Listed 770K Audio Equipment".
The back also notes that this Multiband Receiver was, "Custom Manufactured in China for Radio Shack, A Division of Tandy Corporation, Fort Worth, Texas 76102".
The back panel has a list of the particular frequencies on this gorgeous Radio Shack Multiband Receiver.
AM 530-1710 kHz
FM 88-108 MHz
SW1 4-6 MHz
SW2 7-12 MHz
AIR 108-135 MHz
VHF/WX 145-175 MHz
CB 1-40 Channel 26.96-27.4 MHz
TV1 2-6 Channel 59-88 MHz
TV2 7-13 Channel 178-216.5 MHz
The front has a tuning/fine tuning dial that appears to be in great working condition. When turning the "fine tuning" dial in the center of the tuning dial, the orange line does not seem to move. Hence, the fine tuning is so minutia that it does not show up as moving the larger orange line.
Below the tuning knob (s) there is a "Band" selector dial that has AM, CB, SW1/SW2, FM/AIR, TV2 VHF WX, and TV1.
On the left side of the front there are three up and down switches. Going from the left side there is an AFC ON or OFF switch. The middle switch has RADIO at the top and P.A. at the bottom. Finally, the third switch is for "POWER" ON or OFF.
Below these three switches there are two dials. The top dial is for VOLUME and the bottom dial is for TONE.
In the bottom left corner of the front there are three plug-in jacks. The first plug-in is for a MIC. The second plug-in is for an ANT. The third plug-in jack is for EAR.
Behind the clear plastic window on the front there is a "SIGNAL METER" on the left. The different bands or frequencies are described as AM Broadcast, CITIZEN Band, Short Wave 1, Short Wave 2, FM Broadcast, TV Sound 1, TV Sound 2, VHF Marine, AIR Craft, and WEATHER Band at the bottom.
The telescoping antennae will almost collapse completely into the top of the radio with only the end showing. The antennae can also be pulled up to reveal and adjustable section which simply allows the antennae to rotate 360 degrees.
There are no breaks, cracks, water damages, or repair places on this gorgeous Radio Shack Receiver. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub places on this black and silver Multiband Receiver - mainly in the form of rub marks on the exterior. Also, while the radio has been wiped down, there are some areas of debris and/or dust in crevices and corners.

If you are from outside the United States and you wish to purchase this product put in your correct address and it should populate a quote. If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.
***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
