The beautiful blown-glass blue and purple art-glass statue vase is in excellent condition. This is a very unique decorative art-glass vase. This could be a stand-alone decorative glass statue or it could be displayed as a vase with seasonal flowers coming from the opening. The gorgeous light to baby blue colors on the melon-shaped bottom section mix perfectly with the pinkish violet purple neck mid-section. The mixing of the colors appears to have been done with the vase opening pointed downward as their wavy marbling runs toward the top opening. The bottom of this beautiful blue and purple glass vase shows the pontil scar from the once attached pontil rod - evidence this is a hand-blown artisan-made glass vase.
There is an identification sticker located slightly to the right of the handle on the shoulder of this gorgeous vase. Even though the identification sticker shows some vintage age, the maker "INCO" with the location of "Juarez Mexico" below it are still discernible.
Please note that the Chap-Stick was used for scale purposes only and is not included in this listing.
At first glance, it is easy to assume the neck and top section are leaning due to the fact that they are blown-glass and molten glass pieces is difficult to control and shape. However, while the mid-section is slightly leaning, the overall shape of this beautiful vase is not the result of whether or not it was difficult to handle the molten glass. The triangular shaped head is very similar in shape to that of a snake. While the bottom section is certainly melon-shaped, the individual ridges also give dimension and depth to the overall appearance while at the same time providing a stable heavy base to compensate for the extended handle. The second picture helps bring these very intentional design elements together to show a snake rising from its coiled position in a defensive posture. When combined with the wavy-marbling effect of the flowing colors, this beautiful vase appears to be moving upward - amazingly similar to a snake rising from its coiled rest.
Please note that it is very likely that at least part of the inspiration for this beautiful blown-glass statue vase came from the feathered flying serpent god of the Aztecs - Quetzalcoatl. It appears that Quetzalcoatl as a term has moved - or is moving - linguistically speaking from simply referring to a pagan god, to having more of a cultural meaning connected to the colorful beauty found in the overall Mexican heritage. Hence, the popularity of the term in Mexico - even to the extent that local businesses use the term in their title. Furthermore, there is an apartment complex in Naucalpan, Mexico called Quetzalcoatl Nest. The entire complex was designed by architect Javier Senosiain. Besides blending in with its natural surroundings, the most unique feature of the area is a massive 165 foot x 20 foot serpents head - portrayed with gaping jaws.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair marks on this gorgeous blown-glass art vase. There are some vintage wear, age, and rub marks on this beautiful vase - mainly on the bottom where it has come in contact with different surfaces. The vase has been lightly cleaned and washed out. However, there is still some light residue in a few spots on the inside of the melon-shaped bottom section of the vase. While it is possible a harsher soap could have been used, we did not want to risk the integrity of this beautiful blown-glass treasure. Also, to have an identification sticker remaining - even though it has a faded appearance - gives evidence this vase has been kept in a very clean and safe location. If the vase had been heavily washed on several occasions, it is highly likely that the sticker would not be intact.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous blown-glass statue vase are many. The entryway or dining room table would be enhanced by the addition of this beautiful blown-glass treasure. Also, while a small bouquet of small-stem flowers would look awesome coming from the triangle-shaped mouth of this vase, the open collectibles shelf or display case would welcome this gorgeous glass statue vase for its stunning overall appearance. In addition, the collection of blown-glass treasures would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this gorgeous glass collectible.
The collector will appreciate this beautiful blown-glass statue vase for its excellent condition, colorful appearance, and its flowing and intentional design.
The beautiful blown-glass blue and purple art glass vase weighs 83.1 oz.
The gorgeous blown-glass centerpiece vase measures 18.75" tall x 11.75" from the back of the handle to the other side of melon-shaped bottom x 6 5/8" wide across the base from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
