Ask a question

The two gorgeous Italian Rococo vases are in very good condition as a pair. The particular vase with the teal marking on the base is in great condition. There are so many details happening all at once with these beautiful Italian vases that it is hard to know where to begin. However, it is important to note that while these two vases are matching in design, shape, and color, they are each uniquely different from the other. While the markings on the base of each vase both have "Italy 90/111", the color of the marking on one base is green while the other marking is teal. Furthermore, not only are the colors different but the particular way the markings are made are different - very much like signatures are unique. Also, another way these matching vases are unique can be seen in their measurements. While extensive measurements are provided below, we will point out that one vase is approximately 1/8" taller than the other. The other (1/8" shorter) vase measures approximately 1'* wider at the base. These very subtle differences are important because they give evidence that each of these gorgeous Italian Rococo vases have been painstakingly and ornately created by very talented artisans.

These Italian Rococo vases are very old. They came from the estate of an older gentleman who had been collecting from the 1950's.

The rim and base on each of these gorgeous blue and pink vases are more oval in shape. The base of each vase has a wavy swirl-like appearance while the rims have a wavy scalloped design. The dual-sided garden motif on each vase portrays flowers and fruits together. While at first glance the floral and fruit garden themes appear to be identical, they are actually different from side to side and vase to vase. The amount of time that went into bringing these gorgeous Italian Rococo vases to life must have been off the charts. The relief work alone is staggering to comprehend when one considers the ornate details of each particular curve and lines within them.

The particular blue color on the vase with the teal marking is slightly deeper than the other. Also, the particular color of blue appears to be closer to Lapis-blue and appears consistent with older porcelain works from or around Italy. The gold gilt accents can be seen from virtually every angle of these beautiful porcelain vases.

As previously noted, the vase with the teal marking on the base is in great condition. While both vases have crackling under the glaze, the vase with the teal marking has no breaks, cracks, or repair places. The vase with the teal marking on the base does have some vintage wear, age, and rub marks - mainly surface wear on the rim, base, and gold gilt accents on the vase. The vase with the teal marking on the base also has a tiny dot size spot on the side of the foot that looks very similar to either an air bubble that had come to the surface or a tiny ping from and small pointed object. It only affects the surface color and does not reach through to the other side of the porcelain.

The vase with the green marking on the base is in very good condition for its apparent age. However, there are some places on the vase that need pointing out. The base has been repaired sometime in the past as a toe-like lace from the edge of the base must have broken off. While the repair is good and the little area is intact, it can still be noticed when one looks at the bottom side of the vase. From the top side, the little area is very hard to notice - mainly because there are so many things going on with the wavy swirl-like relief and gold gilt accents. Also, there are places on the sides of the vase where the blue color has come off. They are not chips. The colors is simply missing in those spots. However, the dual-sided floral motif on the vase with their surrounding heart-shaped reliefs make these places very hard to notice unless they are pointed out and/or observed in detail. There is also a small surface chip on the inside of the rim. Other than these places, there are no cracks, breaks, or additional repair places on this gorgeous Italian Rococo vase. Much like the other vase, there are some vintage wear, age, and rub places on this beautiful vase - mainly surface wear around the rim, base, and gold gilt accents.

The vases have been lightly cleaned. However, there are still some places where dust and/or dirt might be noticed - mainly under a handle, inside a crevice, and in the interior bottom of each vase. While it is possible these gorgeous vase could be cleaned much more thoroughly, in our opinion it is not worth risking the integrity of each vase.

The decorative possibilities for these gorgeous Italian Rococo vases are many. The entryway or living area would be enhanced by the addition of these beautiful porcelain treasures. Also, the display case or china cabinet would welcome these gorgeous vases for their extraordinary colors and superbly ornate appearance. The growing Rococo and pottery collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of these stunningly beautiful Italian Rococo vases.

The collector will appreciate these gorgeous Italian Rococo vases for their very good condition, particular Rococo design, and first-glance "Wow" effect.

These gorgeous Italian Rococo vases would make great wedding and/or anniversary gifts. The matching numbers on the bottom of each vase indicate that these vases belong together.

Together, the two gorgeous Italian Rococo vases weigh approximately 128.2 oz.

The blue and pink porcelain vase with the green marking on the base weighs 65.4 oz.

The other vase with the teal marking on the base weighs 62.8 oz.

Each of these gorgeous Italian Rococo porcelain blue and pink vases have practically the same measurements.

The beautiful blue and pink Italian Rococo vase with the green writing on the base measures 14 3/8" tall.

The other gorgeous porcelain Rococo vase measures 14.25" tall.

The rim area of each vase measures approximately 5" deep x 6 3/8" wide.

The base of the vase with the green marking on the bottom measures 5 5/8" deep x 7 1/8" wide.

The base of the vase with the teal marking on the bottom measures 5 5/8" deep x 7 3/16" wide.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of production or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
