Vintage Victorinox Knife, Rare Martin Logo, Red Swiss Army Spartan, Stainless Rostfrei, Cork Screw, Multi Tool, Wedding Gift, Switzerland

$110.00 $137.50

The gorgeous Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei Swiss Army pocket-knife is in excellent condition. The original box is included with the knife. While the box is in good condition, it does show signs of wear and handling.

The gorgeous red handles are made from a composite like material called Cellidor. While it appears to be the same as plastic, the chemical makeup of Cellidor is different. The blades are stainless steel. This awesome Swiss Army knife is sometimes referred to as a Spartan. The knife features a cork screw, toothpick, tweezers, large blade, file, bottle opener, can opener, wire stripper notch, awl with sewing eye, flat screwdriver, and a key ring spring attachment.

The larger blade has a "Martin" logo. As of the time of this listing, the logo has not been connected to a particular company. Furthermore, the Martin logo is no longer being used as it is supposedly available as a download under Martin Vector Logo. Also, the tang on one side of the large blade has a large "V" Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei and the other side has Officier Suisse on the tang. According to a reference, the larger "V" in Victorinox spans from 1985 to 2005. Also, the knife does have the sewing eye added to the awl added sometime between 1985 to 1987. In addition, the Swiss Coat of Arms on this knife dates between 1994 to 2007.

While, these dates give a general time frame of the production date for this particular Swiss Army pocket-knife, there are a couple of more specific differences that bring the production date to somewhere between 1995 to 1999. According to a reference, the key ring attachment on the knife in this listing matches those used between 1991 and 1999. There is a very subtle difference. However, when compared with a later model, the difference in the placement of the key ring attachment is evident. Another difference between those from 1999 or 2000 and the Swiss Army pocket-knife in this listing has to do with a notch that was added on the flat screwdriver in 1999 or 2000. The notch introduced in either 1999 or 2000 was added to keep the flat screwdriver from accidentally closing while being used. The particular Swiss Army pocket-knife in this listing does not have the notch introduced in either 1999 or 2000. Hence, the Swiss Coat of Arms logo on the knife in this listing introduced in 1994 along with the end date of 1999 for the particular key ring attachment found on the knife in this listing helps to limit the production date of this particular knife to sometime between 1994 and 1999. Furthermore, if the flat screwdriver notch was added in 1999 instead of 2000, then an approximate production date would be between 1994 and 1998.

The knife does not appear to have been used. The factory-sharpened blade has not been re-sharpened. The toothpick appears to be unused. There does not appear to be any marks of use on any of the blades, tips, or accessories belonging to this gorgeous Victorinox Swiss Army pocket-knife.

There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this gorgeous Victorinox collectible Swiss Army pocket-knife. There are some vintage wear and rub marks on the knife - mainly on the red Cellidor handles. While it is supposedly possible to polish the Cellidor handles, the risk may not be worth the reward - especially if the polishing paper touches the shiny stainless steel. As previously noted, the original box has wear that is mainly from handling and storing. The box has not been wet. Also, the tabs on the box are intact.

The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous Victorinox Swiss Army knife are many. The display case or enclosed shadow box would be enhanced by the addition of this timeless Swiss Army treasure. Also, the knife could be opened up and safely placed on a shelf to show off its multi-faceted accessories. In addition, the growing Victorinox Swiss Army collection will increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this gorgeous Victorinox collectible.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Victorinox Swiss Army pocket-knife for its excellent condition, timeless design, rare Martin logo, and because the original box is included.

The gorgeous Victorinox Switzerland Stainless Rostfrei Swiss Army knife weighs 1.9 oz. including its original box.

The red and silver Officier Suisse multi-tool pocket knife measures 3.25" in length from end of handle to end of handle or 3 3/8" in length from end of handle to end of key ring spring attachment.

The red Cellidor handles measure 11/16" wide x .5" deep.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
