The green metal rocking chair is in very good mid-century condition. The Bunting Glider Co. identification stamp is located on the back of the seat. While it is hard to read, it is discernible enough to identify the chair. The chair has a slightly distressed appearance. The chair has recently been painted. There are some places on the chair where the paint was applied directly over previous coatings. In a few places this chair might remind one of a chippy paint design. However, it is not all over the entire body of the chair. Also, there are places on the chair where surface rust was once located but now has been painted over. There are places - mainly on the back or bottom side - where the paint did not fully cover or has come off. The chair was not painted to look new or to get a shiny smooth mirror-like finish. Hence, the chair has the appearance of a popular color over a distressed and well-worn but gorgeous mid-century body.
Please note that the color is very close to turquoise. However, since the photos were taken outside the lighting could cause the green color to appear lighter or darker depending on screen resolution.
The chair is very sturdy and solid. There are no loose sections. The back right side section appears to be a tad-bit lower than the left back side section - see pictures. However, it is very hard to notice from the front or the sides. Also, its does not appear to be lower in that area while sitting in the chair - this chair is very rigid and strong. However, it is likely to be from where the chair was tightened up without being fully adjusted. Sometimes furniture can be left a little loose when they are new to allow for settling and then re-tightened later. The chair does show vintage wear and age. One very important characteristic of many of the chairs made during the mid-century era is that quality materials were very important. Furthermore, floating chairs had to have good quality material due to their design. As far as weight limit for this chair, no discernible limits are noted on the chair. However, it will hold up a 260 pound 42 waist male with ease.
The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous mid-century Bunting Glider Company metal rocking chair are many. This gorgeous metal rocker would make a great accent chair for nearly any room in the home. While an industrial theme would be great, mid-century metal furnishings are so respected and admired that they are now desirable for virtually any theme. The living area or den would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous metal rocking chair. If the chair would be used on hardwood or tile, it may be desirable to have a mat or carpet under the rocker to protect the floor. Also, this would be an awesome chair for a loft apartment. In addition, this floating (sometimes referred to as a bouncer) rocker will fit much easier into smaller spaces. This would be a great accent chair for a tight corner where a traditional rocker would not work because they are either too tall or wide.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous metal rocking chair for its very good mid-century condition and gorgeous overall appearance.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. Therefore, after shipping we generally recommend all items be cleaned before use. This is not always because they are considered unclean but simply to make you aware of the possibility of needing to be cleaned after shipping and handling. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
