The beautiful Art Nouveau Nelson McCoy Pottery antique-white matte stoneware vase is in great to excellent condition. The stunning antique-white matte color enhances perfectly the raised tropical garden relief. The style of this relief is consistent with a line referred to as the Onyx design from the 1930's. While the majority of the Nelson McCoy Pottery Onyx style pieces have a colored marbling appearance, this particular McCoy treasure keeps it simple with the basic antique-white matte color and Onyx style raised relief. The raised relief might also be interpreted as a hanging grape vines or palm trees with pineapples which can be very consistent with Greco-Roman culture.
The antique-white matte color on this beautiful Nelson McCoy Pottery vase has the appearance of a faint pink base under a thin white color resulting in a slight semi-transparent effect.
While there are no identification markings on this beautiful vase outright showing it as a Nelson McCoy Pottery collectible, the identification is found in the peculiar style and shape of this gorgeous Art Nouveau vase. In addition, considering that there are some slight variations in some of the measurements, this gorgeous Nelson McCoy Pottery vase appears to be one of their early hand-made treasures.
The rim area has slightly protruding handles - one opposite the other.
There are no breaks, cracks, chips, or repair places on this beautiful Nelson McCoy Pottery vase. There are some vintage wear and rub marks on the vase - mainly on the bottom. The vase has some crazing happening - mainly on the inside and at the base - that is not from damage but result from age and /or original materials used in the making of this beautiful vase. In addition, there are some letter written in pencil on the round footed section underneath that are most likely part of a previous owners name that has since partially rubbed away.
Also, it is important to note that the vase has some imperfections that - from their appearance - simply result from aging and/or original materials. For example, there is a little line spot on the inside edge of the rim that could be interpreted as a chip or break. However, upon closer inspection, the antique-white matte color dips into the little place indicating that the little line developed before color was applied to this beautiful vase. In addition, there are some little places on the bottom that appear to be from where part of the wet material was shaved away before color was applied. The reason for this conclusion comes from the observation that the color actually ends running into the uncolored blank stoneware instead of having an abrupt tear in the color. Also, the edge of the base has some little ridge places in one section that are slightly filled in with the dried antique-white matte color.
The decorative possibilities for this beautiful Art Nouveau Nelson McCoy Pottery vase are many. The china cabinet or display curio would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous McCoy collectible. In addition, this vase is the perfect size for an entryway or dining room centerpiece. Colorful flowers would reveal their full beauty as they are accented by the antique-white matte color. The growing pottery collection would increase in value and interest upon the arrival of this beautiful Art Nouveau treasure.
The collector will appreciate this beautiful Nelson McCoy Pottery vase for its great to excellent condition and stunning Art Nouveau appearance. According to antique references in general, an antique enjoys its highest value when it turns 100 years old. According to some appraisers, as a general rule they are worth more at that time than they ever will be in the future. As this vase nears the 100 year old mark, its value will continue to increase. At the same time, the available pieces of pottery will almost certainly decrease in number.
The beautiful Art Nouveau Nelson McCoy antique-white matte pottery vase weighs 39.8 oz.
The gorgeous ceramic stoneware vase measures approximately 8 1/8" tall x 3 5/16" deep from outside to outside and 5 11/16" wide across the handles from outside to outside.
The round opening measures approximately 4 3/8" across from inside to inside.
The round footed base on this beautiful antique white matte vase measures 4 1/8" wide across from outside to outside.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
