Antique Dragon Lamp, Brass Tea Pot Light, Carved Metal Relief, Scroll Pi Yao, Entryway Decor, Chinoiserie Decoration, Old Lighting

The gorgeous antique dragon lamp is in great condition. The electric lamp is also in great working condition. This beautiful lamp is very ornate and very heavy for a lamp this size. The metal appears to be brass as is evident from the hand-carved dragon relief decorations on the lamp. The reason we note this as hand-carved is due to the intricate details in the actual relief. Some of the shapes and lines are not uniform.

Dragons were mythical creatures used to guard entrances to special places. On this gorgeous brass lamp the motif appears to show two dragons facing each other with an entrance to a garden between them.

There is no shade with this gorgeous brass dragon lamp.

The cord and plug appear to be in great working condition with very little wear - if any. There does not appear to be any raw places on the wiring.

The bottom of the lamp is solid and made into the bottom globe section of the lamp. While we did not take the lamp apart, it appears that it comes apart in at least two places making three distinct sections.

The little straight head screws holding the handle to the body of the lamp reveal this to be an older electrical lamp. However, the greatest proof of age comes from the circled "F" on the socket which was only used for a limited time between 1910 to 1920. This was either prior to or in lieu of an Underwriters Laboratory "UL" mark. Also, the socket has the 660 Watts and 250 Volts stamp on the side. In addition, the interior of the socket appears to be copper instead of aluminum.

The color of this beautiful brass dragon lamp is not black. It is very close to a slightly darker chocolate brown.

There are no breaks, deep cracks, chips, or repair places on this beautiful dragon motif lamp. There are some vintage wear and rub marks on the lamp - mainly where the something rubbed against the color leaving a little mark.

The decorative possibilities for this gorgeous teapot shaped brass dragon lamp are many. The entryway or living room area would welcome this beautiful Chinoiserie style treasure. Also, the display shelf or corner accent table would be enhanced by the addition of this beautiful brass collectible. This gorgeous lamp would be an excellent conversation piece for a study or office area.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous carved brass dragon lamp for its great overall condition and ornate dragon relief appearance.

The antique brass dragon relief lamp weighs 97.1 oz.

The gorgeous hand-carved brass teapot shaped light measures 14 3/8" tall to the top of the socket and 21.5" tall to the top of the fully-screwed in finial.

The lamp measures 9.25" from the back of the handle straight across to the tip of the spout.

The round base measures 3.75" across from outside to outside.

The bottom globe section of this gorgeous ornate brass lamp measures approximately 5.5" across - in girth.

If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. ***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with a regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
