The vintage Firstgear leather riding jacket is in good condition. Hein Gericke leather coats are highly respected for their quality and craftsmanship. This particular coat is a rare specimen.
Men's Size XL Genuine Leather Motorcycle Jacket
The coat has authentic road rash wear on one side. The reason it has wear stems from the purpose of the jacket. This is a genuine leather motorcycle riding coat designed for bringing extra safety and comfort to the rider. The zipper open in the front and back to allow air to flow through to the rider. Also, the leather allows the rider to hopefully escape some or all injuries due to falling off of or laying a bike over while riding.
We are offering this Firstgear leather jacket as both a very wearable leather fashion jacket and as a decorative motorcycle collectible. This would make an awesome wall decoration framed inside a glass-covered shadow-box.
All of the zippers are intact.
There is no hood or extra liner included with this jacket. There are buttons inside that appear to be ready for an add-on hood or lining.
The buttons are snap-style buttons.
We have not conditioned or polished the leather, While the coat could be conditioned, we didn't want to take away from the appeal of the obvious wear.
The armpits are intact and do not appear to have any stretch or stress-pull places.
All of the cuff buttons are intact and work. One of the cuff air flap buttons does not work but is intact. A side pocket button is slightly loose due to wear on that side - mentioned below.
The cuffs have both zipper and button closures.
The First Gear leather riding jacket is a men's size XL.
The Firstgear riding jacket was made in Korea.
The lining is 100% Nylon - Tricot. Doublure - 100% Nylon.
The Firstgear leather jacket has an awesome mesh-like interior for airflow and cool comfort.
The coat has handmade stitching.
Leather Quality Control w/ Final Inspector - on an additional tag.
The pictures show side pockets, two breast pockets, and a pocket inside the fold-over button-down zipper flap. There are also pockets inside the zip-open air flaps.
All of the zip open air flaps open and close.
From our research, the tag shows this First Gear or Firstgear leather jacket to be from 1991 and a style as 9205. Tags for these jackets are harder to research due to the lack of available comparisons.
The pictures show the road rash wear on this awesome piece of motorcycle fashion. In addition, below is a list of wear places one can find upon inspecting this jacket. It is quite obvious these came while the rider was wearing this particular jacket. In short, the rider wrecked and this jacket bears the evidence - we define them as road rash scars or scuffs.
1. There is an air-flap button (not the actual cuff button) that is a little mangled but intact on the right cuff - in pictures.
2. There a hole in the leather on that arm - in pictures.
3. The shoulder has some wear - in pictures.
4. The outside pocket has a button that is loose but still works - may not be visible in pictures.
5. Overall, the right side has a slightly worn appearance including the little places mentioned above.
Furthermore, the road rash scars on this particular Firstgear leather jacket are valuable for a few reasons. First, the excellent quality of this jacket shows via the fact that it is still wearable. Second, this leather fashion jacket bears the scars of a real person putting this jacket to the test. Third, this jacket demands respect as it holds a sense of awe. Finally, the rarity of this jacket makes it valuable. This is the type of item that gains in collectibility by its battle scars - much like a used pro football helmet or a homerun baseball.
As is obvious from this long description, we are trying to correctly describe this gorgeous motorcycle fashion accessory the best we can.

If you are from outside the United States and you wish to purchase this product put in your correct address and it should populate a quote. If a shipping cost cannot be populated outside of the United States it is possible that the item is too big to be shipped or it is listed for local pickup only. However, please check with me to make sure as sometimes there could be system errors. If you have further questions concerning shipping outside of the USA please contact me.
***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with a regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
