The gorgeous antique Edwardian style side table with the removable glass serving tray is in great condition. The beautiful antique accent table is stunning in appearance and quality. While presentable antique accent tables are already rare treasures, this particular table is even more so with the matching scalloped top and removable clear glass and wood tray.
Please note that the pictures have been enhanced for clarity and sharpness. When noting the closest color - in the provided color field for this stained wooden table - we picked out red and black. As the pictures show, the first glance color of the table is very similar to a darker red. However, the accent table has a medium to dark - closer to dark - mahogany style stain.
There are four numbers on the bottom of the table (3626) provided as patent numbers. According to a patent reference chart, those particular numbers match up to the year 1844. While this does not mean the table was made in that certain year, it is highly likely that it indicates an antique age of over 100 years. In addition, the Edwardian slender style of this table makes it all the more beautiful and desirable. While much of the Victorian era furnishings had a somewhat bulkier presence, the legs on this particular table have been described as "spider legs". In addition, it must be noted that this table has screws holding the handles in place. According to one reference, screws were not used until after 1830. Hence, there does not appear to be anything on this table that would sharply disagree with an antique age of over 100 years. While there is no particular date printed on the table indicating its actual production time, the characteristics of the table must suffice.
According to references, comparisons, and the darker areas on the top of the table, the wood appears to be black walnut.
We have not sanded, stained, or added any fasteners to this beautiful antique table - we have not even polished it. We simply wiped it off and inspected the table for any concerns that might stand out.
There are no breaks, cracks, or repair places on this gorgeous table as far as we can tell. There are some vintage rub and wear marks on the table - mainly near the lower sections of the legs. Also, there is a small screw missing from one side of one of the brass handles. The handles are still intact and in great working condition.
The beautiful glass top is intact and in great condition. While the glass has a distinct older appearance, there are no breaks, cracks, or obvious deep scratches as far as we can tell. Also, the glass is not hazed over or cloudy. There are some slight rub places on the removable tray which are mainly noticeable if the tray is held up and examined up close in the light.
The legs are secured at the top to the underside of the accent table and again in the corners of the lower tier section. The legs have a slight amount of play in these corners. They are a little loose when the table is pushed down on and moved back and forth. The play is not enough to keep the table from being displayed and used for a small light or other decorative items. However, the table should not be used for holding or storing heavier items such as serving large portions of food or holding multiple books. In addition, it is always a good practice to keep stress and weight away from older furnishings unless their particular design warrants such.
The corners do not have visible fasteners or hardware that can be tightened up. Also, the slight amount of movement does not warrant removing the legs from their corner sockets. For the same reason, we did not want to add screws or adhesives to this beautiful antique accent table as it might certainly detract from its antique value.
The decorative possibilities for this beautiful Edwardian spider leg table are many. The entryway would be enhanced by the addition of this gorgeous table. The petite or more sleek appearance allows this table to work in smaller areas. Also, this beautiful accent table would look great in a lonely corner or in front of an empty wall.
The collector will appreciate this gorgeous table for its great condition and sleek and simple design.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.
***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.
***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.
***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.
***We do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished look.
***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.
***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.
***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.
***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.
***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.
***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with a regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.
***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
