Vintage Race Horse Painting, Elizabeth Bell Art, Oil on Canvas Realism, Liver Chestnut Brown Decor, Den Decoration, Framed Wall Hanging

$19,880.00 $24,850.00

The racehorse painting by Elizabeth Bell is in great condition. Elizabeth Bell loved painting these beautiful animals. This is an excellent example of her work as it is very well preserved. Also, a very common practice of the artist would be to hand-deliver the paintings to her customers. According to one reference, some of her paintings went for over 10,000.00 at that time. The attention to scale and depth in this particular framed wall-hanging are incredible. Many of her works of realism include both a horse and rider or horse and trainer. In this rare horse and dog painting the dog is standing a little farther in the background from the horse. The difference is brought out in comparison with the beautiful liver chestnut colored (darker brown) horse. In addition, the shoulder and jaw sections have been given more of a 3D appearance with the addition of extra built-up paint.

The oil on canvas painting is signed in the bottom right-hand corner by Elizabeth Bell 1966.

The back of the frame has "ANCO BILT Glendale NY" on the top left of the back with a number 20 to the side.

The solid wood frame has a medium to dark stain. The wood appears to be oak.

The metal wire wall hanger is already installed on the back of the framed painting.

We did not stain or polish the frame. It was simply wiped down as it was already very clean.

There are no holes, breaks, tears, or repair places on this oil on canvas painting. The canvas does have some vintage wear and tiny stretch push-in place that did not pierce through. It is very hard to detect unless it is closely inspected. There are some tiny dots of color that may not be original that would most likely come off with a good cleaning. However, they are so small that they would almost need pointing out. In our opinion, this gorgeous painting does not warrant a cleaning at this time. The wood frame has some vintage wear and rub marks - they are mainly on the bottom and are very slight but can be seen in the pictures.

The decorative possibilities for this beautiful racehorse oil painting are many. Any wall in the home would welcome this gorgeous wall-hanging. The den or study wall would be enhanced with the addition of this beautifully framed treasure. Also, this would be an ideal piece for the office or entryway.

The collector will appreciate this gorgeous Elizabeth Bell oil painting for its great condition and eye-catching subject matter.

The gorgeous racehorse oil painting by Elizabeth Bell weighs 58 oz.

The oil on canvas horse painting measures 19.25" tall x 23 1/8" wide x 1.75" deep.

***Note on Measurements: All measurements are taken and described as close as possible. Where only an approximate measurement is available we will put approximately in the listing.

***Our Measurements for clothing are taken with the garment laying flat with closures fastened - zippers are zipped and buttons buttoned.

***The Bust measurement is obtained by measuring across the flat chest of the garment from armpit to armpit and then multiplying that number by two. To get the chest measurement simply divide the Bust by two.

***We clean our vintage inventory of surface dirt and dust before we list it on our site. We would not want to receive something dirty so we are not going to send our customers something with original dust or dirt. However please note that after shipping we recommend all items be cleaned thoroughly before use. This does three things: (1) It helps you know your item, (2) It helps you ensure your item is clean according to your standards, and (3) It removes any dust or grime that may have come from the shipping and delivery process.

***Unless noted in the description, we normally do not polish or repaint our inventory as many of our customers prefer the vintage patina look over a new painted or polished appearance.

***Please pay close attention to the pictures as they may show more than I may be able to explain.

***Please note that sometimes we enhance our pictures for sharpness and clarity.

***We aim to be good stewards of our planet; therefore, we may use or reuse boxes and/or packing that are clean and ship worthy.

***The year of manufacturing or year-it-was-made is an estimate based on experience, similar items, and/or appearance.

***Textiles and Fabrics such as linens, tapestries, clothing, tablecloths, or simple craft materials may be wrinkled or have lines upon arrival as they are folded for shipping. It is recommended they be laid out or hung up.

***As is common with pre-owned items they could have little marks that are not so easily detectable - we refer to these as vintage wear and rub marks. While I do personally inspect each item, I can miss small marks that may not show up with a regular inside light. That being said, I try to be very picky and careful to make sure the details are explained truthfully, honestly, and upfront.

***Virtually all pre-owned items have vintage wear and rub marks. This is simply a term that we have coined to point out that because: (1) they are older, (2) most likely they are not in their original plastic, wrapping, or packaging, (3) have been stored, (4) transported, (5) and handled - they are very likely to have little, small, or slight discolorations, marks, places, wear, etc. Hence, this is why we often have longer descriptions. We try very hard to make sure you know what we know.
